Eco Sprout! Oh, How I love you! Review & GIVEAWAY!
When it comes to cloth diapers one of the most important items in your collection is going to be a safe & EFFECTIVE detergent! I've tried some other soaps that everyone RAVED about and I really wanted to love them! They just didn't do what everyone else claimed they did. So, after some convincing from my husband I finally decided to switch. I stumled across "Eco Sprout!" I am so happy I did, too. You have to try this stuff! You will NOT go back to whatever it is you are using! I've done other soaks that have been suggested and never saw "funk" float to the surface or my water change color. Even the diapers that were handed down to us & diapers from Diaperswappers.com never made my water funky! Quite honestly, they we're dirty & the other top soap brands just weren't doing what they were supposed to.
Upon receiving my soap, I tested about 15 diapers in a 3 hour soak. Um, gross! I filled my washer with HOT HOT water & put about 4 tablespoons of Eco Sprout in the water, threw in the diapers and shut the lid! Three hours later I returned to disgusting brown, oily looking water with flaky stuff floating at the top. Whoops! I definitely should have photographed this one! Then I ran one wash cycle without any soap and one rinse cycle. Voila, they are gleeeaming! Covers and inserts always seem to do pretty well in the wash. Some all in ones, like my bumGenius 3.0s, not so much! Eco Sprout got my aio's squeaky clean from the inside out, without actually having to turn them inside out! Awesome!
Seriously, give this stuff a try. Your diapers & your babies booty will thank you.

ReplyDeleteI mostly use my own homemade detergent (Fels Naptha, washing soda, borax, and off-brand oxi-clean) and it works fairly well. I also have some samples of Country Save that I LOVE, but I can't seem to find it anywhere local.

ReplyDeleteMy baby is not here yet, but I've been researaching the different CD reviews out there and I'd love to have EcoSprout to start out with! Definitely following your blog now as I'm always into reading CD product reviews! :)
ReplyDeleteFree & Clear detergents are not recommended for cloth diapers. They are ONLY free and clear from perfumes and dyes but still have optical brighteners, softeners, and enzymes in them.
ReplyDeleteOur main ingredients are sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate which will actually disinfect the diapers as well!
i follow your blog, we currently use Green Works detergent and im on the HUNT right now for a new one!! i dont like it at all, terrible build up and stink!

Would like a diaper giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to leave my email address on the last one but I would suggest looking on Etsy. Some of those mamas are amazing at helping out. Also, a wonderful giveaway to consider is doing a themed week (a bunch of the same stuff but lots of different makers). I love wipes themed weeks and mama cloth themed weeks!

I would also like to see more eco-friendl alternatives to use with my child like AIO cloth diapers& non-paper towels.
ReplyDeleteI am following and am curious about this soap. I currently use Rockin Green and Charlies Soap. RnG is OK I suppose, My dipes sometimes smell a little tiny bit. Charlies, which I just started using, seems to be harsh on the diapers and clothes and make them pill a little bit. It didn't start happening until I tried charlies so probably won't buy more of it.
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog as Stacieml and I am currently using Lulus. Honestly I don't love it. It kind of leaves a weird rough feeling to my diapers. I would love to try Eco Sprouts!! I have also used Rockin Green and liked it better than Lulus...but didn't love it.
